Once I had completed my pitch I stayed around college to see
how other students pitch went. I told some members of the course that I received
good feedback which led onto me explaining what I wanted to do for my FMP.
After talking to some students I decided to ask a couple if they wouldn’t mind
reading my script and give me feedback, everyone thought it were brilliant.
Feeling incredibly proud of myself, I decided to officially begin my production
by asking who would care to be involved with my production. I have already got
Jordan Gott on my crew; I wanted to work with him because I believe we both
have a similar taste in drama’s and would be able to communicate to a
professional standard. Whilst showing Emily McGregor and Becky Gill my script
they kept asking questions and creating possible scenarios for the characters
and narrative. Later that night they gave me an idea to improve both elements
which truly excited me, from this and previous projects I have worked with them
Ii decided to ask if they would be willing to be part of my crew. I am aware
they are both busy with their own FMP’s but I decided to ask anyway.
Below is a screenshot of our short conversation.
Continuing with our Facebook conversation, they made it
clear that they would love to be producers. Helping gathering cast and helping
with development which I have no issue with it as long as I can have the final
decision seeing as at this moment in time this is my project.
Also whilst at college, going over my script, the majority were
very persistent on me using people in the actual acting industry as my script is so well
executed and shouldn’t be let down by
people not in the acting profession.A site that has been
used before within our class is http://www.starnow.co.uk,
so I briefly looked through the possibilities out there, thinking feasibility. I had to narrow down the range of distance that I could look
for these actors, so I first wrote out a list of acceptable areas to look; put
in table, location & ETD.

Following my prep plan from my pitch, I asked the media
technician if I could borrow the camera equipment so that I could practice some
shots which I have concern with. Whilst booking out the equipment I was sharing
a conversation with our technician and he asked what shots I was going for and
I went on to explain. One that I had discussed with the technician, he provided
feedback for. The technician explained that it was very difficult to achieve and
I should spend more time practising that shot. The shot is a close up of an eye
in two different locations, I have to work on that as there is no obvious cut and
I have to keep in mind lighting and positioning.
I will be providing screenshot’s of this once I have begun
practicing but that won’t be until I finalise the re-recce of my final
locations. Hopefully that will be sometime next week.
